Must-see places on your visit to Tenerife

Must-see places on your visit to Tenerife

First of all, you should know that on your visit to Tenerife you will find options for all tastes. Are you a beach lover or do you prefer the mountains? Are you in the mood for relaxation or adrenaline? Whichever way you are, we are sure that if you have decided to spend your holidays in the Fortunate Islands, Tenerife has many unmissable places to surprise you.

Some of these places you are sure to have heard of and others are waiting to surprise you. You should also know that the distance on the island, to travel from one end of the island to the other, is one of its advantages. That’s why you can combine your all-inclusive holiday at Villa Adeje Beach with various experiences outside the hotel. Let’s get started!

El Teide, the most essential visit

Right in the centre of the island is Spain’s highest peak, Mount Teide, with several different routes around it. If you want to climb it, then we recommend you book the cable car that will take you almost to the top. Once at the top you will have about 200 metres to go to reach the peak. To do this, you will need a special permit, which you will need to apply for well in advance. Whether or not you decide to climb to the top of the volcano, you will be amazed by the view and the scenery.

Masca, one of the most beautiful villages on your visit to Tenerife

Its landscape and orography make it one of the most beautiful villages on the island of Tenerife. It is located in the southwest of the island and belongs to the Teno Rural Park. Masca has a special charm. A refuge for pirates in the past, its landscape of narrow streets, cliffs and authentic Canarian architecture and environment will surprise you. If you go by car, you will find a free car park and from there we recommend you to take a look at the small viewpoint that you will find nearby. The panoramic view is incredible! Walk through its streets and feel how time stands still.

Playa Los Cristianos, your must-visit for relaxation

Something very different from the previous experience, but almost a must, is the beach of Los Cristianos. Very close to the Villa Adeje Beach Hotel you will find this beach, which, unlike most of the beaches in the north and some in the south, is characterised by its white sand. In addition to enjoying the climate and a good swim, its promenade offers different possibilities in terms of gastronomy, shops and leisure in general. Without a doubt, it is one of the favourite beaches of any visitor to the island.

Tijoco, Taucho and Ifonche, a different kind of visit in Tenerife South

The villages of Tijoco, Taucho and Ifonche are among the must-see places on your visit to Tenerife. A lesser known option but perfect for enjoying the traditional architecture of Tenerife. Located in the upper part of Adeje, they offer a moderate route surrounded by nature and history. So, if you are looking for a place for a quiet day out, this is the route for you.

The thousand-year-old dragon tree and the wind cave

Finally, we recommend you explore another part of the island. The north of Tenerife is also full of history and surprises. If you fancy an excursion a little further afield, we definitely recommend a visit to the Drago de Icod de los Vinos. As well as being the oldest in Tenerife, its more than 25 metres high will leave you speechless. And continuing with curious places, another of the essential and recommended visits near here is the Cueva del Viento, the largest labyrinthine volcanic tube in the world!
