Carnival in Los Cristianos and Costa Adeje
The south of the island also celebrates its own carnival a few weeks after Santa Cruz. The Carnival of Los Cristianos will take place from 6 to 17 March 2025 with events such as:

April: Holy Week in Tenerife

Holy Week in Tenerife is an event of great religious significance, especially in municipalities such as Adeje and Arona, where processions are organised that pass through the main streets. It is a time of reflection, with a solemn air that contrasts with the festive nature of other events on the island. Holy Week this year is celebrated from Sunday 13th April to Sunday 20th April 2025.

Canary Islands Day (30th May)
Canary Islands Day celebrates the identity and culture of the archipelago with multiple activities, dances and events all over the island. In Adeje, visitors can enjoy local festivities, music and typical Canarian cuisine.
Other events of note in May:
- Baile de Magos in Adeje: 29th May. A night full of folk music, traditional costumes and a festive atmosphere.
- Romería de Valle San Lorenzo in Arona: 18th May.
- Romería de Guía de Isora: 18th May.
These romerías are cultural events where local patron saints are honoured with music, dance and traditional food.

June: Fiestas of San Juan
Bonfires of San Juan (23rd June)
The night of San Juan is celebrated all over the island, but in the south, the beaches of Adeje, Los Cristianos and El Médano are filled with bonfires, music and night swimming. It is a magical night where locals and tourists gather to celebrate the summer solstice with fireworks and traditional rituals.
July and August: Summer Holidays in Tenerife
Patron Saint Festivities in Adeje (July)
During the summer, the patron saint festivities take centre stage. In Adeje, the festivities include concerts, fairs and sporting events. Fiestas de Candelaria (15th August)

September: Pilgrimages and Traditions in the South of Tenerife
- Descent of the Virgin of Socorro (7th September): One of the oldest celebrations in Tenerife in the municipality of Güímar, where devotion and tradition are mixed.
- Ascension of the Virgin of Socorro (8th September): The Virgin returns to her sanctuary in a festive atmosphere full of colour and music.
- Romería Barquera de El Médano (21st September): A unique event in Granadilla de Abona, where boats take centre stage.
